School for the Arts
Providing educational opportunities to aspiring artists in a variety of art forms; our curriculum includes classes at every skill level in a creative, educational and fun learning environment. Instruction is provided by professional artists with extensive teaching experience.  Materials are included in all class prices, unless indicated otherwise.  Partial and full scholarships are available.   See you in class!

Hand Building Clay for 8-12 year olds!

March 6 & 13 10am-Noon

Solvieg Comer teaches hand building bowls and sculptural objects in this 2-part class.  Students will learn to glaze as well as paint bisque fired clay structures that they have created.

Monday Evenings March 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29

6:30-8:30PM.

Barbara Ardan proctors a session with a live model. You can practice your drawing skills in an informal setting. The class is held upstairs in the Carriage House. The cost is $60

Intermediate Jewelry Making

Watercolor in Seasonal Transition

Dave Kiehm teaches this Tuesday morning class on March 2, 9, 16, 23 from 10AM-Noon. This class concentrates on landscape painting. The cost is $60, materials included.

 

Evening Watercolor

Barb Ardan teaches this Wednesday evening class March 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31from 6-8PM.  The class focus is on watercolor technique with emphasis on color and experimentation.  The cost is $60, materials included.

Mask-Making

March 13 &20 from 10Am-Noon Barbara Gregson teaches this 2-part workshop with a nod toward East African culture.  Participants (ages 8 and up) will have the opportunity to have their work displayed as part of the Catskill Choral Society's promotion of African Sanctus.

Cost is $40.

 

Basic Stained Glass

March 27 from 10Am-Noon in this Adult beginner class Wendy Reich teaches the basics of stained glass, its origins and techniques.
